| SKILLS CATEGORIES
|
-
COACHING
The Community Coaching Project
delivers a desirable advanced management
skill (Level 3 Certificate in Professional
Coaching in the Workplace from the Institute
of Leadership and Management) in a community
setting
-
MENTORING
The sustained mentoring experience
which participants will gain through this
project is completely transferable to the
workplace.
-
LEADERSHIP
Through learning how to inspire
and motivate challenged individuals in the
local community, Community Coaching Project
graduates will develop invaluable leadership
skills.
-
VOLUNTEERING
The satisfaction of volunteering
comes from feeling you have made a difference.
The Community Coaching Project offers participants
the chance to literally help
a few individuals turn their life around.

| COMMUNITY BENEFITS |
-
YOUNG PEOPLE
The Community Coaching Project
offers those young people (16-25 years)
who want to be coached a rare opportunity:
a three-day watersports residential at the
UK Sailing Academy in Cowes to develop their
skills in working with other people. The
cost of the residential for the young people
is funded from the contributions businesses
make to the Project.
-
NEETS (NOT IN
EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT OR TRAINING)
The Community Coaching Project
works with Connexions and Barnardos
to identify young people suffering from
social and educational exclusion because
they can benefit enormously from a sustained
coaching and mentoring relationship with
an adult who is not in a position of natural
authority towards them.
-
PARENT OR CARER
RETURNING TO WORK
Life can be a struggle for adults
returning to work after a period of domestic
duties, especially back-to-work mums. A
coach can help clarify out time-management
issues and build self-confidence.
-
UNEMPLOYED
Unemployment brings with it many
difficult challenges including loss of self-esteem.
Coaching can help address this, and an external
mentor can be a helpful source of support
to maintain focus during the often painful
process of job-hunting.
-
IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES
Integrating into the local community
and into a new workplace can be difficult
if you are new to this country. Talking
things through with a coach and mentor on
a regular basis can be enormously beneficial
to maintain confidence and focus.

| SCOPE OF PROJECT |
| The
Project operates nationwide and runs twice a year,
starting in March and September. Up to 15 employees
can participate at any one time. Businesses can
choose to either buy an entire Community Coaching
Project, or to put a few employees forward for
a joint programme with participants from other
companies. The time commitment for the full programme
is 4 x ILM - led training days and 3 x residential
workshop within the first two months, followed
by approx. 3 hours a month coaching experience
for 10 months. The Project must be completed within
a maximum of 24 months.
Alternatively, we can
deliver a shorter version in the form of a two-day
coaching workshop to deliver the basic skills
followed by opportunities, as for the full Project,
to consolidate the learning within the community.
Please contact EV for
further information.
